More good news on being a Promise Place: Five Promises Delivered Here!

Just a few days after ABLE Families’ designation as a West Virginia Promise Place by West Virginia Promise — the Alliance for Youth (see the post below) comes new and even more exciting news:  America’s Promise Alliance, the national organization, has designated ABLE Families as a national Promise Place!

As with the state organization, this honor recognizes our effective committment to fulfill the Five Promises young people need in order to grow up well prepared for a happy and successful life.  These promises include

— caring adults

— safe places

— a healthy start

— effective education

— opportunities to help others

(Each of these is explained by America’s Promise Alliance here.)

The national recognition suggests we’re doing it in a way that measures up to some of the finest programs for young people in the country.  We’re thrilled and honored at the thought.
