What’s Cookin’ in Our Kitchen

The latest installment of Supper in a Sack, ABLE Families’ award-winning nutrition education program, opened yesterday.  The program runs for 7 weeks.  Supper in a Sack teaches participants about planning, preparing, and budgeting for healthy and delicious meals.

But we’re not talking about sitting in a desk and taking notes here.  This is hands-on, presented by a certified nutritionist in our own kitchen classroom.

We offer this 7-week program 3 or 4 times each year, and I always look forward to it because it means I get one really good lunch each week while it runs.  On the menu yesterday was roast, green beans, ‘cowboy corn,’ and rosy apple sauce.

Here are a few photos of the goings-on.
